Next Steps are an easy way to manage your follow up. You can set Next Steps for any contact, and we'll remind you when that Next Step is due. For example, say you connect with a contact and they mention that they are definitely thinking of selling but want to do some home repairs first and would love for you to give them a call in three months. You may want to set a Next Step for two months later that says, "Call to follow up regarding listing their home and completion of home repairs". We'll remind you to reach back out to that contact in two months.
Once you connect with a contact you've set a Next Step for, complete that Next Step and set another based on your conversation.
With multiple Next Steps, you can create an individual action plan for each contact you want to focus on.
There are three easy ways to create a Next Step:
Tap the "+" button from the Next Steps tab
Tap the "Set Next Step" button from the Connections section of your contact’s detail page
Tap the more options button on any contact from the In-Flow or Hot List and click Add Next Step
Four Parts of Creating a Next Step
There are 4 parts to creating a Next Step: the contact name, the connection type, the due date and the description.
If it isn't already pre-populated, add the name of the contact you would like to be reminded to follow up with. Next, select an option on how you would like to connect with them. Although we have seen that most agents find success through phone calls, you can also choose to text or email a contact if their phone number or email are available in your First app. Select the date you would like to be reminded and add a description so you can remember why you're reaching out.
Completing a Next Step
If you would like to mark a Next Step as completed, you can simply click the check box located on the left hand side of the Next Step listed on the Home tab or Activity tab.
Deleting/ Cancelling a Next Step
If you would like to delete a Next Step that has been created, you can do so from your contact’s Profile page. Toggle to the Connections section and click the ‘x’ to the right of the Next Step you would like to delete.
Editing a Next Step
If you would like to edit a Next Step that you have created, you can do so from your contact’s Profile page. Toggle to the Connections section and click the Next Step you would like to edit. Here, you can change the message, the connection type, the contact, or the reminder date.
